Margaret Weichert Joins Primis Financial Board
With a three-decade career spanning global banking, government oversight, and fintech innovation, Margaret M. Weichert has been elected to the Board of Directors at Primis Financial Corp. Her appointment signals a strategic push by the McLean-based institution to sharpen its technological edge in an increasingly digital financial landscape.

Weichert brings a multifaceted background to the board, having held leadership roles at Accenture, Bank of America, and First Data. Her experience extends beyond the private sector, including service as a Senate-confirmed official at the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of Personnel Management. As an inventor, she holds sixteen U.S. patents, with expertise ranging from artificial intelligence and cloud computing to blockchain and payment systems.
Dennis J. Zember, Jr., President and CEO of Primis, highlighted that the company’s recent engagement with Weichert confirmed her as a critical asset for their goals. As the firm looks to scale its operations—currently managing $4.3 billion in total assets across Virginia and Maryland—her blend of entrepreneurial spirit and institutional knowledge is expected to influence the bank's long-term digital strategy. Weichert currently balances her professional commitments as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University and as an advisor to various fintech startups.
