The Busalacchi family is set to unveil a total transformation of Trattoria Don Pietro on July 9, pairing a refreshed dining room with a theatrical new menu. Guests attending the debut will be greeted with complimentary cocktails or champagne and passed appetizers, accompanied by a DJ set starting at 6:30 p.m. While dinner reservations are recommended between 7 and 10 p.m., the restaurant will remain open for walk-ins until midnight. Owner Sal Busalacchi describes the renovation as a family labor of love, intended to deepen the restaurant's connection to the neighborhood’s evolving identity as a dining destination.

The menu update leans heavily into tableside spectacle. Signature additions include the Parmigiana di Pollo alla Lava, which features a red sauce finish poured at the table, and the Moka Espressotini, served directly from a coffee pot. Dessert also takes a performative turn with the One Scoop Tiramisu, a shareable dish finished with chocolate pistachio sauce. Fred Grand, President of the Old Town Chamber of Commerce, noted that such investments are vital for maintaining the district's status as a cultural hub for locals and visitors alike.
