PepsiCo Expands Regenerative Farming Across 4.7 Million Acres
PepsiCo has reached a critical milestone in its 2030 sustainability roadmap, expanding regenerative, restorative, and protective agricultural practices to 4.7 million acres worldwide. The company now reports that 70% of its key ingredients are sustainably sourced, signaling a major push to overhaul its global supply chain impact.

The progress, detailed in the company's latest update on its Positive Agriculture (pep+) agenda, highlights a shift toward collaborative ecosystem management. A centerpiece of this effort is the newly launched STEP Up for Agriculture initiative—a partnership with peers like Unilever—designed to strengthen farmer-facing organizations through technical assistance and shared supply chain expertise.
Beyond environmental metrics, the company is nearing its social targets, having supported approximately 224,000 people since 2021 through programs like "She Feeds the World" and regional projects in India, Mexico, and Türkiye. These initiatives prioritize economic prosperity and improved security for smallholder farmers. According to Jim Andrew, PepsiCo's Chief Sustainability Officer, the strategy relies on co-designing locally relevant programs that align environmental outcomes with economic incentives. As the company moves toward its 2030 goal of 10 million acres under improved management, it continues to deploy precision agriculture tools and innovation accelerators to help producers adapt to climate change while maintaining productivity.
