Bybit Debuts Triparty Banking Solution for Institutional Traders
Institutional investors can now mitigate counterparty risk on Bybit by keeping collateral with regulated third-party banks. The new service allows firms to secure USDT loans for trading while their underlying assets—held in USD or U.S. Treasury Bills—remain safely tucked away in independent banking custody.

The framework enables institutions to deposit assets with designated international banking partners rather than directly onto the exchange. Once the triparty arrangement is established, Bybit grants approved borrowing capacity, delivering USDT directly into the client's Unified Trading Account. This mechanism ensures that traders maintain full access to spot, margin, and derivatives markets without the friction of moving collateral between disparate systems.
Beyond risk management, the service preserves capital efficiency. Institutions continue to earn yield on their U.S. Treasury Bill collateral throughout the borrowing period. By separating the custody of assets from the trading platform, Bybit aims to align crypto-native liquidity with the rigorous security standards typical of traditional finance. Interested institutions can begin the onboarding process through their dedicated account managers.
