Delta Community Credit Union Boosts Atlanta Nonprofit Grants
Delta Community Credit Union is restructuring its 2027 Philanthropic Fund Program by replacing a tiered award system with ten flat grants of $15,000 each. By consolidating its $150,000 total distribution into larger individual awards, Georgia’s largest credit union aims to provide more substantial operational support to local organizations.
The shift in funding strategy marks a departure from previous years, reflecting a desire to deepen the impact of the institution's charitable investments. CEO Hank Halter noted that the increased grant amounts are intended to grant recipients greater flexibility in addressing the pressing needs of metro Atlanta families. The program specifically targets nonprofits dedicated to household financial management and the overall well-being of young people.
Since the initiative began in 2013, the credit union has contributed approximately $1.4 million to over 260 organizations. Beyond this specific fund, Delta Community maintains a broader civic footprint through school partnerships, scholarships, and free financial education workshops. Interested organizations have until 5 p.m. ET on August 31, 2026, to submit applications via the credit union’s official website.
