Coherix Demonstrates Real-Time Adhesive Precision at AUTOMATE 2026

The Ann Arbor-based firm utilizes laser-based 3D sensors capable of scanning and adjusting dispensing processes up to 400 times per second. By combining machine learning with adaptive process control, the technology allows automotive and electronics producers to identify defects instantly. According to Coherix chairman and CEO Dwight Carlson, these capabilities minimize assembly-line downtime and significantly reduce long-term warranty and material costs.

Coherix claims its platform is the only solution currently capable of autonomous inspection at standard production speeds. This development follows a period of heavy investment for the company, which recently relocated to a 25,000-square-foot headquarters in Michigan to expand its software and manufacturing capacity. With over 100 million dollars and one million engineering hours invested in its development, the technology is now utilized by more than 50 automotive OEMs, including Ford, General Motors, and Toyota, alongside major Tier One suppliers like Bosch and Magna.
