Harlem's Fashion Row and H&M Launch Pop-Up in French Quarter
The French Quarter’s H&M at 418 N. Peters Street transforms into a hub for independent creativity this Independence Day. Harlem's Fashion Row partners with the retailer on July 4, 2026, to host HFR HOUSE New Orleans, a curated retail activation spotlighting eight emerging designers of color.
The one-day event pivots from traditional retail to a community-focused showcase, featuring collections from BruceGlen, Jam + Rico, Flore K, LitBodies, Chuks Collins, Anwuli Eyewear, Bohn Jsell, and local New Orleans talent RocFresh. Shoppers can engage directly with the creators, browsing a range of apparel, accessories, and home décor intended to foster entrepreneurial growth and provide a platform for underrepresented talent.
Brandice Daniel, founder and CEO of Harlem's Fashion Row, described the initiative as a direct investment in creative businesses, noting that the partnership aims to bridge the gap between independent designers and new audiences. Donna Dozier Gordon, head of inclusion and diversity for H&M Americas, echoed this sentiment, framing the collaboration as an effort to align H&M’s retail footprint with the cultural identity of the neighborhoods it serves. The activation serves as a physical manifestation of HFR’s ongoing mission to institutionalize equity within the fashion sector.
