The transition brings Heritage Valley Beaver and Heritage Valley Sewickley under the AHN banner, rebranding them as AHN Beaver Hospital and AHN Sewickley Hospital. This acquisition expands the network to 16 acute-care facilities in western Pennsylvania, absorbing 3,000 employees and approximately 500 physicians into the larger system.

To support this integration, the organizations have pledged $285 million over the next decade. A primary focus of this investment is the implementation of the Epic electronic health record system, which will unify patient data across all inpatient and outpatient locations. AHN president Mark Sevco noted that the partnership allows the network to extend its clinical reach while maintaining the established care teams serving the Ohio River valley.

Heritage Valley president and CEO Norm Mitry described the merger as a way to secure the health system's future while preserving its century-long local legacy. For Highmark Health, the parent company of AHN, the deal reinforces a decade-long expansion strategy that has seen over $2.5 billion invested in regional infrastructure, technology, and facility upgrades.
