Tradebe Expands Ingredients Platform With CitraSource Acquisition

Tradebe has acquired CitraSource from IFF, folding the natural citrus oil producer into its Life Sciences division. This deal follows the April 2025 purchase of Florachem, signaling a concerted effort to scale the company's presence in the North American citrus ingredient market and bolster its global processing capabilities.

Operating out of Winter Haven, Florida, CitraSource processes a broad spectrum of citrus ingredients, ranging from orange and lemon to lime and tangerine extracts. The firm utilizes both traditional and molecular distillation to create specialized fractions and terpeneless oils. By integrating these assets with existing Florachem operations, Tradebe aims to create a more robust global value chain. The Winter Haven facility brings a skilled production team and significant storage capacity, both of which are expected to stabilize supply chains for the company’s international client base.

Jon Leonard, CEO of the Ingredients division, noted that the acquisition allows for a deeper portfolio of multi-tonality citrus specialties. Oscar Creixell, CEO of Tradebe Life Sciences, added that the move aligns with the firm’s long-term goal of building a dominant global platform for natural ingredients. With annual revenues exceeding $1 billion and a workforce of nearly 3,000, Tradebe continues to shift its focus toward high-margin specialty markets. The Life Sciences segment, which houses this new acquisition, currently accounts for approximately $210 million of the company's total revenue.
