Golden State Mint Launches Semiquincentennial Commemorative Series
Sanford-based Golden State Mint has unveiled a private commemorative collection marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The series, available immediately, features rounds struck in .999 fine silver and copper, offering collectors various sizes to celebrate the nation’s 1776 founding and its enduring historical milestones.
The collection includes 1, 2, and 5 troy oz rounds produced at the company's private facility. Each piece features a detailed obverse depicting the Statue of Liberty, the U.S. Capitol, Mount Rushmore, and the Liberty Bell, accompanied by the inscription "United States of America: 250 Years, 1776–2026." The reverse displays a bald eagle accented by thematic values including honor, courage, and integrity.
Andrew Pavlakos, owner of Golden State Mint, noted that the series serves as a tribute to national pride and the strength characterizing the country's history. While these rounds are crafted for commemorative purposes, the mint clarified they are not affiliated with the United States Mint and do not function as legal tender. Collectors can purchase the pieces in both silver and copper formats directly through the company's website.
