DJI Mic Mini 2 Debuts With Magnetic Customization

Equipped with a new swappable magnetic cover system, DJI’s Mic Mini 2 allows creators to match their audio gear to their wardrobe. While the hardware remains largely unchanged from its predecessor, the redesigned transmitters prioritize aesthetic versatility, offering both subtle and vibrant options for wireless recording setups.

The units are slightly bulkier and one gram heavier than the original 2024 model to accommodate the mounting system. Despite this, they remain significantly more compact than competitors like the Insta360 Mic Pro. Performance metrics are consistent with previous iterations: users can expect 11.5 hours of battery life with noise cancellation disabled, while the transmission range holds steady at roughly 1,312 feet. The system lacks redundant on-mic recording, though DJI has signaled a more advanced 2S version with that capability is slated for a summer release.

Pricing for the base bundle, which includes one transmitter and a USB-C receiver, starts at €59. A more comprehensive €99 package adds a second transmitter and a camera-compatible receiver. While the company includes obsidian black and glaze white covers in the box, users can purchase 12 additional color variations separately. Following the strategy used for the Osmo Pocket 4 and Lito drones, DJI has excluded the United States from this product launch, focusing distribution on international markets.
