Beyoncé Marks B'Day Anniversary With Surprise Drop
A two-year silence from the global superstar ended this Independence Day as Beyoncé released "Morning Dew (Donk)," a new single serving as the official kickoff for a 60-day countdown toward the twentieth anniversary of her sophomore studio album, B'Day.
Co-written alongside Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, the track signals a return to the studio for the singer. The production, handled by Beyoncé and Williams, arrives alongside a lyric video directed by Cliff Watts, who previously captured the star for her 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover. This release functions as the first addition to the upcoming anniversary edition of B'Day, the record that originally propelled her to the top of the Billboard 200 with over 541,000 copies sold in its debut week.
Beyond domestic success, the 2006 album achieved rapid international dominance, including a swift ascent to the top of Japan's International Album Chart. The new song is now available across all major streaming platforms, setting the stage for a full celebration leading up to September 4, the date marking both the album's original debut and the singer's birthday.
