Burger King Revamps 1979 Classic With Two New Chicken Sandwiches

Since its debut in 1979, the Original Chicken Sandwich has remained a staple of the Burger King menu, defined by its distinct shape and breaded white meat. The new Loaded Jalapeño version adds a spicy profile to the traditional build, incorporating creamy jalapeño sauce, both crispy and pickled jalapeños, crispy onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and American cheese. Meanwhile, the Club Original Chicken Sandwich aims for a more classic, elevated approach by adding crispy bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise to the standard chicken base.

Joel Yashinsky, Chief Marketing Officer for Burger King US&C, noted that the additions are a direct result of guest feedback. The company has utilized a listening initiative to track fan sentiment regarding the 45-year-old product, ultimately deciding to introduce these limited-time variations to reward long-term patrons. The full range of sandwiches will be available at participating locations nationwide beginning tomorrow.
