This shift toward higher specs is the official explanation for the six-month delay, as the company claims it chose to pivot from an entry-level model to a more premium offering. While the introductory price for early depositors remains $499, future buyers should expect a higher cost. Despite the branding, the phone is not manufactured in the United States; final assembly occurs in Miami, a process the company describes as putting together the final components. Executives acknowledged that previous claims of the device being fully "Made in the USA" were inaccuracies they have since scrubbed from their marketing materials.
