Galaxy Digital Activates Helios AI Data Center in West Texas
Galaxy Digital has officially transitioned its Helios campus from a construction site to a revenue-generating asset, delivering 133 megawatts of critical IT load to CoreWeave. The milestone marks the on-schedule completion of the first phase of the West Texas infrastructure project under a long-term, 15-year lease agreement.
The facility now provides approximately 200 megawatts of gross power, enabling high-density computing capabilities for its primary tenant. With rent commencement finalized in the second quarter of 2026, the company is already pivoting to the next stage of development. Construction crews are currently advancing civil and structural work on Phase II, which is slated to add another 260 megawatts of critical IT load, with data hall deliveries expected in the first half of 2027.
Galaxy CEO Mike Novogratz described the progress as a validation of the firm’s ability to execute complex, hyperscale AI infrastructure projects. According to Novogratz, the demand for high-density power represents a structural shift in the market rather than a temporary cycle.
Looking ahead, the Helios campus is positioned for significant expansion. The site spans over 2,200 acres and has seen its total approved power capacity grow to 1.63 gigawatts, with the potential to reach 3.6 gigawatts. Across three planned phases, CoreWeave has committed to 526 megawatts of critical IT load, a deal projected to generate over $1 billion in average annual revenue for the operator.
