Skanska Secures $94 Million Contract for Virginia Data Center
A 17,700-square-meter facility will soon rise on an existing campus in Virginia, as Skanska finalized a $94 million agreement with a repeat client. The project, valued at approximately SEK 870 million, marks a significant expansion of the company’s infrastructure footprint in the United States.

The construction project involves a single-story building designed to house four colocation data halls alongside dedicated administrative space. Beyond the structural shell, the contract encompasses a full suite of mechanical, electrical, civil, and telecommunications systems, topped with integrated security protocols and interior fit-outs. Once operational, the site will support a designed capacity of 38.4 megawatts.
Site work is slated to commence in October 2026, with a projected completion date in the second quarter of 2028. This order will be officially recorded in Skanska’s US bookings for the second quarter of 2026.
