VolitionRx details prognostic potential of Nu.Q lung cancer test
A new clinical study conducted with the Hospices Civils de Lyon indicates that VolitionRx’s Nu.Q Cancer Assay can effectively predict survival outcomes in patients with newly diagnosed lung cancer, offering a potential tool for clinicians to refine treatment strategies and identify individuals who may benefit from curative care.

The research, currently undergoing peer review, focuses on measuring methylated nucleosome biomarker levels—specifically circulating H3K27Me3-nucleosomes—at the time of diagnosis. Data from the study demonstrate that these levels correlate with cancer progression, allowing for the stratification of patients into distinct mortality risk groups. This model integrates baseline biomarker concentrations with clinical factors like cancer stage and molecular profiles to forecast survival probabilities over a 30-month timeline.
VolitionRx is now moving to secure reimbursement for the test in France through the RIHN framework, a process expected to conclude within five months of dossier admissibility. The company anticipates a revenue of approximately €50 per test for its direct sales model. Executives view the French market as a precursor to broader international expansion and potential technology licensing agreements, positioning the test as a routine diagnostic instrument for precision oncology.
