KOIN is fully funding the project, providing schools with the infrastructure to publish real-time coverage ranging from marching band performances and debate competitions to girls' athletics. According to Tom Keeler, VP and GM of KOIN Media, the initiative aims to offer students practical experience in journalism and technology while broadcasting their stories to a wider audience. Content featured on KOIN.com has already demonstrated potential for national reach, with student reporting from Seaside High School recently appearing on platforms like Yahoo Sports and MSN.

Beyond media exposure, the partnership emphasizes data security and educational standards. The uReport platform holds a 1EdTech TrustedED Apps Certification for data privacy and is listed in the ISTE Learning Technology Directory. Peter Fitzpatrick, CEO of DistrictWON, noted that the program provides a necessary outlet for community-focused storytelling that has historically lacked consistent coverage. School administrators in the region can begin onboarding immediately to utilize the platform for the upcoming school year.
