BODYBAR Pilates Expands to New Hampshire with First Exeter Studio
Former professional BMX rider Aaron Smith is bringing high-energy, reformer-based fitness to the Granite State. The entrepreneur confirmed that the first New Hampshire location for BODYBAR Pilates will open its doors at 71 Portsmouth Avenue in Exeter on August 10, marking a regional milestone for the national franchise.

The 2,400-square-foot facility will feature 15 Reformers and a dedicated private room for one-on-one sessions. Smith, who already operates two health-focused restaurants in the region, identified a gap in the local market for athletic-focused Pilates. He intends to replicate the brand's national model of fostering a community-centric environment rather than offering a fleeting fitness trend.
To build momentum before the August opening, the studio is launching a series of local activations. These include a "BODYBAR on Tap" mat class at Throwback Brewery on July 14, an open house event on July 15, and a community session at Stratham Hill Park on July 25. Early adopters can secure founding memberships, which include a 15% lifetime discount, priority booking, and guest passes. With over 86 studios currently operating nationwide, the company views this expansion as a strategic step into the New England market, with Smith already exploring the possibility of launching additional locations in the coming years.
