Govplace Rebrands as Digital Compass to Expand IT Lifecycle Services
After three decades of delivering over $1 billion in technology to federal agencies, Bethesda-based Govplace has rebranded as Digital Compass. The firm is pivoting from a specialized federal contractor to a full-lifecycle IT partner, aiming to consolidate fragmented vendor landscapes across government and commercial sectors through a unified service model.

The rebranding marks a strategic shift for the company, which now seeks to leverage its experience in high-stakes federal environments to serve state, local, and commercial clients. Under the new identity, the company consolidates procurement, implementation, management, security, and optimization into five pillars designed to replace the common practice of juggling multiple, disconnected vendors.
CEO DJ Oreb stated that the company’s objective is to move beyond simple implementation by taking total ownership of technology outcomes. The transition is supported by additional capital from the investment firm DigiCap, which plans to pursue an aggressive acquisition strategy to broaden the company's technical capabilities. This unified operating model aims to provide organizations with a single point of accountability for every stage of a technology asset’s life, from initial sourcing through to secure retirement.
