Sands China Scales Up Annual Charity Drive with 30 Tons of Food Aid
Nearly 450 volunteers gathered at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo on Wednesday to assemble 5,000 food kits, marking the fifth consecutive year of the Sands Cares Global Food Kit Build. The record-breaking effort produced 30 tons of supplies destined for vulnerable residents across the region via Caritas Macau.

The initiative saw participation from Sands China executives, local social service organizations, and company volunteers. Each of the 5,000 kits contains 11 essential items, including rice, cooking oil, and egg noodles, all sourced from local small and medium-sized enterprises. To support the Macao SAR government’s Healthy Macao Blueprint, the kits also feature nutritionist-approved recipe cards designed to promote healthy eating habits among beneficiaries.
Patrick Dumont, CEO of Las Vegas Sands Corp., underscored the scale of this year's operation, noting that the group aims to distribute 51,000 kits globally in 2026. The Macao portion of the project will be distributed between July and August to 34 care homes and centers, including those in Fai Chi Kei and Coloane. During the event, Sands China also recognized 70 local volunteers with certificates, highlighting a long-term collaboration with partners like Caritas Macau to assist the elderly and low-income families.
