Rochester-based Innovative Solutions is bringing the Amazon Web Services Forward Deployed Engineering model to a wider audience, launching a dedicated service line that embeds specialized engineers directly into customer teams to build, manage, and optimize AI and cloud production systems at scale.

The new Forward Deployed Services line acts as an extension of the $1 billion AWS initiative, designed to provide mid-market and enterprise businesses with the same embedded, agentic-first technical support typically reserved for large-scale global deployments. By placing engineers directly into client environments, the firm aims to eliminate the traditional gap between consulting strategy and technical delivery.

CEO Justin Copie notes that while AWS created the model for complex, high-tier environments, the demand for embedded AI expertise is universal. To bridge this gap, the offering is structured into three tiers: a fixed-price AI readiness assessment, a product-oriented delivery (POD) model for specific workflows, and a long-term managed capacity retainer. Each engagement utilizes an Outcome Accelerator, which ties a portion of the partner's compensation to achieving specific technical milestones or cost-efficiency targets rather than billable hours.

This approach relies on the company’s internal Agentic Delivery model, which integrates AI agents into the engineering lifecycle. According to CTO Travis Rehl, this framework compresses deployment timelines from months to days while allowing the same engineer to transition from initial build to long-term account optimization. The firm reports that the service is available immediately, with options to apply existing AWS Strategic Collaboration Agreement funding to offset implementation costs.
