For over eight decades, EBONY has served as a primary record of Black life and cultural progress. The 2026 iteration of its Power 100 list seeks to highlight a diverse class of honorees, including figures in STEM, business disruption, and community advocacy. According to EBONY CEO Eden Bridgeman, the list remains a vital platform for documenting the brilliance and creativity that shape both the community and the broader global landscape.

By bringing in Jesse Collins Entertainment, the organizers intend to refine the event into a high-production cultural experience. Known for orchestrating major television events such as the Grammy Awards and various high-profile specials, the production firm will oversee the ceremony scheduled for Los Angeles. Dionne Harmon, President of Jesse Collins Entertainment, noted that the partnership focuses on creating an experience commensurate with the achievements of the honorees. Past recipients of the honor include director Ryan Coogler and athlete A'ja Wilson, setting a high benchmark for the upcoming class of influencers.
