HeyGears Debuts G1X Desktop Printer for Full-Color 3D and UV Fabrication
Color has long been the primary bottleneck for desktop digital fabrication, forcing creators to choose between the limited detail of FDM or the laborious manual finishing of resin prints. HeyGears aims to bridge this divide with the G1X, a hybrid system integrating full-color 3D modeling, deep relief, and high-resolution UV printing.

The G1X platform consolidates three distinct workflows into a single desktop footprint. In its 3D printing configuration, the machine utilizes a complex eight-channel ink set—CMYK, double white, transparent, and water-soluble support—to produce models with integrated color. Beyond standard additive manufacturing, the system supports 2.9D deep relief, allowing for structural prints up to 150 mm in height.
For surface-level customization, the UV mode transitions the device into a flatbed printer capable of operating on over 400 materials, including leather, metal, and ceramics. The system leverages an industrial-grade Epson I3200-U1HD printhead, which the company claims offers significantly reduced clogging risks compared to entry-level alternatives. By integrating AI-driven modeling through its Blueprint Studio and HeyVerse software, HeyGears intends to lower the barrier for users to convert text or 2D images into tactile, physical objects without requiring extensive CAD experience.
Efficiency remains a central focus of the hardware design. The G1X features auto-calibration via line-scan imaging, which identifies object placement to streamline batch production. HeyGears reports that the machine’s UV printing speeds are up to three times faster than standard desktop units utilizing single F1080 printheads. The company is positioning the device as a cost-effective solution for small businesses and studios, with a Kickstarter launch scheduled to follow their current early-access reservation phase.
