STI Debuts High-Capacity Fire-Rated Pathway for Data Infrastructure

Engineered to handle the massive cable density of modern data centers, the new EZ Path® ULTRA Fire-Rated Pathway by Specified Technologies Inc. offers a specialized solution for high-fill cable tray systems. The device accommodates large-scale backbone routing while maintaining rigorous fire-stop integrity for critical telecommunications environments.

The ULTRA system addresses the physical constraints of contemporary digital infrastructure by supporting tray widths of 12, 18, and 24 inches with up to 6 inches of vertical clearance. By providing expanded entryway headroom, the design allows for the passage of pre-connectorized fiber optic cables and oversized pulling heads, simplifying deployment in complex network pathways. This modular approach aims to accelerate construction timelines by reducing the installation complexity typically associated with high-capacity cable management.

Product Manager Justin Mentuck stated that the system is purpose-built to minimize operational downtime in mission-critical facilities. Beyond initial installation, the device is designed to maintain firestopping performance throughout the lifecycle of the infrastructure, ensuring that fire, smoke, and hot gases remain contained even as cable volumes increase. STI, based in Somerville, New Jersey, continues to focus its engineering resources on passive fire protection systems, aiming to lower overall installed costs for data center operators.
