Shaheen brings a background in scaling private equity-backed technology firms, a skill set Transit Technologies aims to leverage as it refines its operational foundation. Her role extends beyond traditional legal oversight, encompassing risk and compliance management to support the company’s internal infrastructure. According to CEO Gerry Leonard, Shaheen was selected for her direct leadership style and her ability to integrate cross-functional partnerships.

This executive shift follows a series of recent leadership appointments at the firm, including the addition of a new Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology, Data & AI Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. Currently based in Wilmington, North Carolina, Shaheen joins a management team tasked with scaling the company’s software platforms, which are used by public transit agencies and specialized mobility providers to bridge transit equity gaps.
