Monport has launched its 70W MEGAS desktop CO2 laser, targeting small businesses and makers who require industrial-grade precision without the footprint of full-scale manufacturing equipment. The unit integrates AI-assisted workflows and advanced optical systems to bridge the gap between hobbyist tools and professional production hardware.
The Monport MEGAS aims to solve common bottlenecks in custom manufacturing by consolidating professional-grade features into a single desktop unit. At the heart of the system is an upgraded optical path that achieves a laser spot size of 0.05–0.08 mm. According to the company’s internal R&D tests from June 2026, this hardware refinement produces significantly sharper contrast and clearer text definition compared to conventional desktop alternatives.
Beyond optical accuracy, the machine shifts focus toward throughput. It includes an integrated camera for material alignment, an autofocus system, and batch-processing capabilities that allow for continuous production workflows. The hardware also supports conveyor belt operation, enabling users to manage larger projects or extended runs without manual intervention.
