Northstar Clean Technologies Scales Calgary Facility Operations
Northstar Clean Technologies has surpassed a key operational hurdle at its Empower Calgary facility, hitting a peak processing rate of 120 tonnes of asphalt shingles per day. This milestone follows successful debottlenecking efforts and marks a transition toward steady-state commercial production for the Canadian waste-to-value firm.

The company confirmed that June output consistently exceeded its interim target of 100 tonnes per day, validating the technical optimizations implemented after reaching the previous 80-tonne benchmark. These efficiency gains are currently being integrated into the engineering designs for the firm's future expansion plants.
Alongside the production ramp-up, Northstar completed several commercial shipments of recovered liquid asphalt to McAsphalt Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Colas Canada Inc. While shipment volumes remain undisclosed, these deliveries serve as a practical endorsement of the facility's output quality. CEO Aidan Mills noted that the core intellectual property is performing as expected, positioning the company to reach its fourth ERA milestone during the third quarter.
