Alienware refreshes its QD-OLED lineup at Computex 2026

At Computex 2026 in Taipei, Alienware unveiled a significant update to the monitor that defined its early QD-OLED efforts. The manufacturer is looking to reclaim the high-end gaming market by introducing the AW3426DW, a successor to its 2022 debut model, alongside a massive 39-inch 5K ultrawide display.

The AW3426DW retains the familiar 34-inch footprint and 1800R curvature of its predecessor, but internal hardware sees a sharp increase in capability. Utilizing the new Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, the display pushes peak brightness to 1,300 nits—a notable leap over the original 1,000-nit threshold. Gamers will also benefit from a refreshed 280Hz panel, up from the previous 240Hz ceiling. Alienware integrated a specialized anti-reflective coating within the five-layer screen structure, aimed specifically at preserving deep black levels in brightly lit environments, effectively addressing the purple tint that occasionally plagued earlier generations.

While the 34-inch model focuses on speed, the new 39-inch AW3926QW represents the company's push into ultra-high resolution. Launching this fall, this flagship display utilizes LG Display’s fourth-generation Primary RGB Tandem technology. It offers a tighter 1500R curve for increased immersion and delivers 5K resolution at a 165Hz refresh rate. With a pixel density of 143 pixels per inch, it provides a sharper image than the 110 pixels per inch found on the smaller curved model. Pricing details for both units remain undisclosed as the company prepares for a staggered rollout throughout the remainder of the year.
