Martin Guitar and Shawn Mendes Unveil Vintage-Inspired Signature Duo
Drawing from the intimate feel of a 1920s instrument, Shawn Mendes and C. F. Martin & Co. have launched two new signature acoustic guitars. The collaboration introduces a high-end, limited-edition model alongside an accessible, performance-ready acoustic-electric, both designed to bridge the gap between stage-worthy craftsmanship and daily songwriting utility.

The partnership centers on the 000-28 Shawn Mendes and the Road Series 000-10E, both rooted in the design of a vintage Martin 0-42 the artist discovered in a Brooklyn shop. Mendes, who has long credited the brand's instruments for his creative process, worked to capture the resonance of that classic small-bodied guitar in modern builds.
The 000-28 Shawn Mendes is a collector's piece limited to 88 units worldwide. It features solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, a spruce top with antique toner, and Golden Era scalloped X-bracing. Distinctive appointments include a pyramid-style ebony bridge, a custom eagle mother-of-pearl inlay on the fingerboard, and gold Waverly side-mount tuners.
For broader accessibility, the Road Series 000-10E utilizes FSC-certified tonewoods, pairing solid sapele with a spruce top. Designed for versatility, this model includes Martin E1 electronics and a Performing Artist neck taper to ensure playability for both studio recording and live performance. Both instruments aim to support the Shawn Mendes Foundation, with proceeds assisting the organization’s mission to empower youth changemakers. The guitars are available now through authorized dealers and the manufacturer’s website.
