The Model 6440 functions as a standalone, programmable voltage source that integrates with the existing 6330 Meter Site Analyzer. By decoupling voltage generation from measurement, the platform allows field crews to deploy only the hardware required for specific tasks, effectively reducing the weight and complexity associated with traditional, integrated testing systems. This modular approach supports a wide range of configurations, from basic meter installation verification to advanced troubleshooting of distributed energy resources and EV charging infrastructure.

Engineered for rugged field conditions, the device generates programmable outputs ranging from 69 to 480 VAC and supports both 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems. It delivers 100 VA per phase with less than 3% total harmonic distortion. According to Tom Lawton, CEO of TESCO Metering, the system provides utilities a scalable foundation that accommodates both legacy electromechanical equipment and modern smart metering deployments, ensuring billing accuracy as distribution networks evolve.
