Surgeons performing all-inside anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions now have access to a ready-to-use solution, as Centennial-based AlloSource announced the FDA 510(k) clearance of its ReConnex Pre-Sutured Tendon. The product aims to streamline operating room workflows by removing the need for manual suturing during complex sports medicine procedures.

The ReConnex tendon comes pre-measured under tension to maintain precise length and diameter specifications, ranging from 8 to 10.5 mm. By integrating white loop passing sutures, the graft simplifies the attachment of suspensory fixation devices. According to Kevin Whitten, Chief Commercial Officer at AlloSource, the design specifically targets the reduction of variability and costs typically associated with preparing grafts on-site.

Safety protocols for the new line utilize the company’s AlloTrue Cleansing Process. This method targets deep-tissue lipids and blood while minimizing physical manipulation of the donor graft. To ensure sterility, the company combines this cleansing stage with low-dose, low-temperature electron-beam irradiation, a process intended to preserve the biomechanical integrity of the human tissue while meeting rigorous safety standards.
