BigHeart Health Targets Illinois Medicaid Gaps with New Outreach
A Chicago parking lot is becoming a temporary hub for healthcare access this weekend as BigHeart Health rolls out its new program, "My Health. My Power." The initiative aims to bridge the gap between Illinois Medicaid members and essential preventive care, directly addressing health disparities in underserved communities.

Selected by the State of Illinois as the designated Medicaid Prevention Care and Education Organization, the virtual care company is launching a statewide campaign to reach more than 400,000 members. The effort kicks off with enrollment fairs at the Walmart located at 7050 S. Cicero Ave. in Chicago. Unlike traditional telehealth models, the program pairs participants with a dedicated Personal Healthcare Consultant to manage everything from doctor appointments and chronic condition coaching to navigating social support systems like housing, food, and transportation assistance.
Cheryle Jackson, CEO of BigHeart Health, emphasized that the program arrives during a period of significant Medicaid rule changes. By focusing on populations with the highest barriers to care—including those experiencing housing instability and families with young children—the initiative seeks to move beyond clinical services into holistic support. Outreach efforts are currently prioritizing South Cook, Will, and Grundy counties, alongside regions in Central and Southern Illinois. Enrollment is free for eligible members, who can access resources through the program’s website or by contacting its dedicated support line.
