Paris Baguette Opens Newest North Texas Location in Plano
A shared appreciation for coffee sparked a new business venture in Plano, as franchisees CJ Singh and Punya Kushalappa opened their Paris Baguette bakery café at 5500 State Highway 121 on June 4. The site marks the brand's 27th location in Texas as it pushes toward a 1,000-store goal.

The new bakery café brings the brand’s signature artisan pastries, cakes, and handcrafted beverages to the local community. Singh, a senior vice president at a global tech firm, and Kushalappa, a global head of human resources, leveraged their combined hospitality experience to launch the site. The duo describes the partnership as one built over coffee rather than in a boardroom, aiming to establish a space where residents can gather and connect.
This opening underscores an aggressive expansion strategy for Paris Baguette, which currently operates over 300 locations across North America. Darren Tipton, the chain’s Chief Executive Officer, noted that the company intends to re-establish the neighborhood bakery as a community hub. With plans to reach 1,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada by 2030, the brand is prioritizing partnerships with local entrepreneurs to drive its growth in key regional markets.
