Artisan Industries Expands Board with Two Industrial Veterans
Artisan Industries, a specialist in thermal-separation technology, has appointed Stephen S. Schwartz and Gary A. Doyon to its board of directors. The move marks a strategic effort to bolster the Stoughton-based manufacturer’s governance as it targets growth in sectors ranging from life sciences to advanced chemical processing.

The addition of Schwartz and Doyon brings decades of leadership in manufacturing automation and industrial thermal processing to the company's seven-member board. Schwartz, who served as CEO of Azenta from 2010 to 2024, offers extensive expertise in guiding technology-driven firms through periods of rapid transformation. Doyon, the former CEO of Inductotherm Group, contributes a deep background in scaling manufacturing operations and managing complex, multi-company industrial portfolios.
CEO Mark Miller noted that the new directors will assist in integrating recent acquisitions, including the JetVac and Unique Systems product lines, into a unified platform. Artisan Industries, founded in 1934, is currently pushing into high-demand markets such as PFAS removal and pharmaceutical drug development. These efforts are anchored by new equipment like the ROTOTHERM MINI, a lab-scale system designed for the continuous processing of heat-sensitive materials. By leveraging the specific operational experience of their newest board members, the company intends to bridge the gap between its traditional engineering foundations and the requirements of modern, high-growth chemical and life science sectors.
