Two Birmingham-based inventors have designed a protective cover for jet engines aimed at mitigating the risks posed by bird strikes during flight. The inventors, who submitted their design to the Birmingham office of InventHelp under reference BTK-441, claim the cover ensures only clean air enters the turbine, effectively preventing flocks of birds from causing engine damage. The system emphasizes ease of installation, targeting passenger carrier manufacturers who require reliable, low-maintenance safety upgrades for their fleets.
