Bringing two decades of experience from an Am Law 100 firm and a background as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company, she strengthens the firm’s regulatory expertise.

Carlson focuses on the design, administration, and compliance of comprehensive benefit plans, ranging from retirement and health programs to complex severance arrangements. She provides guidance on fiduciary duties, tax requirements, and mandatory disclosures, while representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.

Her practice extends to the integration of benefits during corporate transactions. She frequently manages plan spin-offs, mergers, and the post-closing coordination of employee compensation structures. Carlson holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College. Her addition supports the firm's ongoing efforts to provide specialized legal counsel to public and private corporations, government entities, and tax-exempt organizations across the region.
