Chris Clendening Appointed to Lead Precision for Medicine Specialty Labs
Precision for Medicine has tapped laboratory industry veteran Chris Clendening to serve as General Manager of Labs Translational Sciences. Tasked with overseeing global operations and scaling AI-driven biomarker research, Clendening joins the Bethesda-based firm to accelerate clinical development cycles for life sciences clients worldwide.

Clendening arrives at Precision following a tenure as Senior Vice President of Biotechnology Operations and Product Development at Clario. His background includes over a decade of leadership at PPD Central Labs, where he earned the Center Watch Award for Innovation for architecting an evolutionary laboratory platform. Reporting to President Sofia Baig, he will focus on enhancing the company's global delivery strategy and integrating novel scientific solutions into the clinical trial process.
Baig cited the appointment as a strategic move to capitalize on the rapid intersection of artificial intelligence and biomarker research. For his part, Clendening emphasized the need for agility in a sector often hindered by legacy operating models. He intends to leverage Precision’s infrastructure to improve speed and efficiency, applying the disciplined operational focus he developed earlier in his career to the company’s international network.
