JBT Automated Systems Rebrands as FORMOVA
After four decades of operating under the JBT banner, the automation specialist is rebranding as FORMOVA. The company, which maintains its position within JBT Marel, intends to use the new identity to emphasize its focus on Total Automation Intelligence and the orchestration of complex material movement systems.
The transition will be formally introduced at the Automate 2026 trade show in Chicago. According to company leadership, the name change is a strategic evolution intended to better represent their current capabilities in integrating advanced vehicles with orchestration software. Despite the name shift, the organization maintains its existing ownership structure, leadership team, and product commitments.
President Giorgio Grimaldi described the move as a reflection of the company's growth beyond individual vehicle manufacturing into fully integrated, mission-critical systems. To date, the firm has deployed over 700 systems and 7,000 vehicles across sectors including healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing. Jordan Guhl, Vice President of Sales, noted that the rebranding provides a more precise platform to communicate their long-term strategy for navigating operational complexity. The company will continue to leverage the global resources of JBT Marel as it expands its focus on software-driven automation solutions.
