Liebherr Expands North American Laboratory Refrigeration Network
Liebherr Appliances is scaling its laboratory refrigeration footprint across the United States and Canada, broadening its network of authorized distributors to improve access for research institutions and life science organizations. The expansion follows a strategic investment in the company's Atlanta, Georgia, distribution center to bolster regional inventory and technical support.
The initiative aims to shorten delivery timelines and enhance customer service for laboratories requiring high-precision temperature stability. By integrating local distribution partnerships with direct manufacturer technical support, the company intends to simplify the procurement of its refrigeration units, which feature advanced data logging and variable-speed compressor technology.
Alex Squarize, Divisional Director of Liebherr USA, noted that the move underscores a long-term commitment to the North American scientific market. For research facilities, this translates to faster access to equipment designed for energy-efficient operation and regulatory compliance. The company, which maintains a significant presence in Newport News, Virginia, continues to leverage its German engineering background to compete in the high-stakes sector of sample storage and critical research infrastructure.
