OnePlus Exits Western Markets as Oppo Consolidates Operations
OnePlus is pulling out of the United States and Europe, ending its run as an independent-facing brand in these regions. While parent company Oppo vows to maintain existing warranty obligations, the transition of hardware to the ColorOS ecosystem signals a definitive shift in strategy for the struggling smartphone manufacturer.

James Paterson, Oppo’s senior PR manager in Europe, confirmed that software support and after-sale services will remain active, though the company provided few details on how it will manage US operations without a physical presence. Users in these regions will see their devices transition from OxygenOS to ColorOS in the coming months. CEO Elvis Zhou noted that while owners may roll back to the original software, doing so will likely forfeit future security and feature updates.
The retreat follows reports from Bloomberg suggesting that OnePlus intends to exit India and all other international markets by next year, narrowing its focus exclusively to China. Oppo representative Nicole Okpokiri confirmed the Chinese roadmap remains unchanged but declined to clarify the brand's long-term future elsewhere. The restructuring also extends to sub-brand Realme, which is facing its own internal reorganization as Oppo tightens its global footprint.
