MANE Secures Global Rights to Arzeda's ViaLeaf Reb M Technology
French flavor giant MANE has acquired an exclusive global license to produce and commercialize Arzeda’s ViaLeaf Reb M, a breakthrough sweetener developed through AI-driven protein design. This agreement centralizes the entire value chain for the high-demand steviol glycoside, aiming to scale natural sugar reduction for the global beverage industry.

The partnership leverages Arzeda’s proprietary protein engineering, which utilizes Nobel-Prize-winning methodologies to improve the economics of Reb M production. While Reb M is prized for its clean, sugar-like profile and lack of bitterness, industrial-scale deployment has historically faced cost and supply challenges. By integrating Arzeda’s technical innovation with MANE’s extensive manufacturing network—comprising 31 production sites across 41 countries—the companies intend to stabilize supply chains and drive down costs for food manufacturers.
Samantha Mane, CEO of the MANE Group, noted that the collaboration allows the firm to offer a fully integrated solution that balances high-performance taste with competitive market pricing. For Arzeda, the deal represents a critical transition; ViaLeaf Reb M marks the first commercial application of its generative AI-driven design platform to reach global markets. This move comes as consumer demand for clean-label, low-sugar ingredients continues to pressure food and beverage producers to reformulate existing product lines without compromising flavor quality.
