Khanna Threatens Prosecution Over DOJ’s Missed Epstein Files Deadline
The Department of Justice missed a court-ordered Friday deadline to release all files concerning Jeffrey Epstein, prompting Democratic Representative Ro Khanna to vow that any official obstructing the disclosure of these records will face prosecution for justice obstruction, regardless of their political standing or career tenure.

Deputy US Attorney General Todd Blanche admitted on Fox News that the department would not meet the full disclosure mandate established by the Epstein Files Transparency Act. While the DOJ released a portion of the materials, Blanche stated that additional documents would arrive over the coming weeks to ensure victim privacy. This explanation failed to appease lawmakers who argue the 30-day window provided by the legislation was sufficient for full compliance.
Representative Thomas Massie, co-author of the transparency act, warned that the absence of names linked to sex crimes in the initial production would serve as proof of a deliberate cover-up. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats echoed this sentiment, accusing the Trump administration of shielding the truth. As the impasse continues, congressional leaders are currently evaluating potential legal actions against the Department of Justice for what they describe as a direct violation of federal law.
