The move marks the first time a Democratic senator has bypassed this procedural block during Trump’s second term.
The decision to clear the way for Pozos’ nomination to the Eastern District of Pennsylvania prompted immediate condemnation from activist organizations. Demand Justice announced a six-figure ad campaign targeting the senator, branding the nominee a crony judge. The group’s president, Josh Orton, urged Democrats to move beyond performative outrage and actively obstruct judicial appointments that threaten the rule of law.
Indivisible, another prominent progressive group, went further by questioning Fetterman’s political future. The organization suggested that his actions represent a betrayal of his base, hinting at the potential for a primary challenger in 2028.
