Lantern secures SOC2 Type 1 certification in eight-week sprint
Achieving SOC2 Type 1 compliance in just two months, New York-based Lantern has validated the security architecture of its AI-native ERP platform. The milestone, reached without a dedicated security department, marks a shift in how mid-market businesses approach the rigorous demands of enterprise-grade data management and vendor procurement.

The certification process, which typically spans six months for first-time applicants, required Lantern to pass 198 individual tests and controls. By utilizing the Secureframe automation platform and undergoing a thorough audit by Prescient Security, the company compressed its timeline by integrating security practices into its daily engineering rhythm from day one. Instead of retrofitting protocols for the audit, the team focused on documenting existing infrastructure.
Co-CEO and CIO Ady Das noted that the certification reflects a philosophy of treating security as a consistent habit rather than a singular project. Senior Technical Program Manager Archana Haran emphasized that most firms spend the majority of their compliance timeline building necessary controls, whereas Lantern’s existing operational discipline allowed them to move directly to documentation. As the company scales its modular LanternBRP™ platform—which serves industries ranging from manufacturing to agriculture—this credential serves as a baseline for its ongoing expansion and upcoming pursuit of Type 2 compliance.
