Investors Target Planet Fitness in Securities Class Action

A federal class action lawsuit now challenges Planet Fitness, Inc. over allegations that the company misled shareholders regarding its marketing efficacy and financial stability. The litigation, filed by Bronstein, Gewirtz & Grossman, targets the firm's leadership for statements made between November 6, 2025, and May 6, 2026.

The complaint alleges that Planet Fitness executives issued materially false information concerning the company's growth trajectory during a critical period. Specifically, the suit claims that the gym chain's refreshed marketing strategy alienated its core demographic of fitness beginners rather than attracting them. This disconnect reportedly created significant headwinds for net member growth, rendering the company's 2026 fiscal guidance and long-term financial targets unreachable.

Furthermore, the lawsuit contends that the company was forced to abandon its planned Black Card membership price hikes and overhaul its marketing approach, contradicting public representations made to investors. Shareholders who acquired securities during the specified window have until September 14, 2026, to petition the court for lead plaintiff status. While the law firm operates on a contingency fee basis, they emphasize that individual investors do not need to serve as lead plaintiffs to participate in any potential recovery.
