Samsung Biologics to Acquire PolyPeptide in 1.46 Billion CHF Deal
Samsung Biologics has launched an all-cash public tender offer to acquire the entirety of PolyPeptide Group AG, valuing the Swiss-based firm at approximately 1.46 billion CHF. The move marks a strategic shift for the South Korean giant as it seeks to dominate the rapidly expanding market for peptide-based therapeutics.

Under the terms of the agreement, shareholders will receive 44.31 CHF per share, a price representing a 40% premium over the company's valuation before market rumors surfaced in April 2026. PolyPeptide’s Board of Directors has unanimously recommended that shareholders accept the proposal, bolstered by an irrevocable commitment from the company's largest shareholder, who controls roughly 55.65% of outstanding shares.
This acquisition is set to transform Samsung Biologics from a traditional antibody-focused contract manufacturer into a comprehensive multi-modality platform. By integrating PolyPeptide’s six global GMP-certified facilities across Europe, the U.S., and India, Samsung gains immediate access to over 70 years of expertise in peptide active pharmaceutical ingredients. The deal is specifically designed to capitalize on the surging demand for GLP-1 treatments and oncology drugs, areas where peptide-based therapies are becoming increasingly vital. Subject to regulatory approvals and a minimum acceptance threshold of 66⅔%, the transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026.
