The transition begins on July 24, 2026, when Krystal Biotech (KRYS) shifts from the S&P SmallCap 600 to the S&P MidCap 400. This move fills the vacancy created by Taylor Morrison Home (TMHC), which is being acquired by Berkshire Hathaway. Concurrently, Tutor Perini (TPC) will step into the S&P SmallCap 600 to replace Krystal Biotech.

Following the weekend, the index updates continue on July 27 as V2X (VVX) joins the S&P SmallCap 600. The company takes the place of Avanos Medical (AVNS), which is currently being acquired by American Industrial Partners. Both index changes remain subject to the successful completion of the respective acquisition deals.
