Mago Maga Prepares AI-Powered Roma-X Coffee Roaster for Kickstarter
A 50% discount awaits early backers of the Roma-X, an AI-driven home coffee roaster set to launch on Kickstarter July 23. Following a successful debut as a finalist at the 2026 World of Coffee in San Diego, the device aims to bring commercial-grade precision to domestic kitchens through automated roasting profiles.
The Roma-X represents a complete structural and digital overhaul of Mago Maga’s previous hardware. Designed for both novices and connoisseurs, the machine roasts up to 300g of green coffee per batch and features a dual-layer borosilicate glass chamber for full visibility. Automation is handled by internal AI algorithms, while a cloud-based platform allows users to download and share custom roast profiles, effectively creating a social network for home-roasting enthusiasts.
Technical specifications include a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for mobile app integration, and an integrated filtration system that reportedly captures 90% of smoke. CEO Chifeng Lei stated that the company is aiming to blend the utility of machine learning with the social aspects of coffee culture. The machine is slated to retail at US$1,598, with initial units expected to ship in the fall of 2026.
