Cheryl Matejka Joins The Group Savings Organization Advisory Board
Cheryl Matejka, a veteran in hospital finance and healthcare procurement, has joined the Board of Advisors at The Group Savings Organization. Her appointment arrives as the firm scales its efforts to replace traditional, century-old bulk-buying models with a data-driven, gain-share approach to managing medical and non-medical expenditures.

CEO and founder Scott Robins noted that Matejka recognized early on that conventional Group Purchasing Organizations often fail to capture maximum value. By moving away from rigid, one-size-fits-all contracts, The GSO utilizes its proprietary GSOhub platform to connect hospital systems with specialized affiliates. The firm claims this strategy consistently secures over 20% in additional savings beyond standard industry pricing.
Matejka will provide strategic oversight as the company expands into more than 100 categories of hospital spending. She intends to focus on helping leadership teams transition their procurement departments into engines for immediate cash flow and long-term, non-patient revenue. This shift reflects a broader trend among health systems seeking greater transparency and agility in their financial operations.
